PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY PROPERTIES: white crystalline or powder, inodorous and tasteless, it is weak acid ad has moisture absorption character. Relative density is 3.08 for hexa square crystal and 2.665 for cubic crystal ( 170C) . The solubility is small in water and dissolvable in hydrochloric acid. Odourless. White powder or crystal. Three crystal shapes: monoclinic crystal,cubic crystal and amorphous crystal. Packed in a wood box lining with two layered firm paper containers or polyethylene plastic bags, binded with iron wires or sheets. The net weight per box is 50kg.On the package it should be clearly marked "deadly poisonous product".

Physical and chemical nature:
White, hexagonal system, granular crystal or powder. The relative density is 2.91(25/4°C).The melting point is 283°C.The boiling point is 732°C.It dissolves easily in water, also in methanol, ethanol, glycerine, acetone and ether, but insolubilizes in liquid ammonia. With a strong hygroscopy, it will be deliquesced by absorbing water under the bare air. Otherwise, it can dissolve metal oxides and cellulose. Fused zinc chloride has a very good electric conduction. When scorched, it will generate a thick white smoke. It is corrosive and poisonous.
Usage:
In the organic synthetic industry it is used as the dehydrated agent, the condensate agent, and the catalyzer for the production of Vanillin, anti-inflammatory painkiller and cation exchange resin. Also used as the solvent of polypropylene. In the dyeing and weaving industry it is the material (solutizer for cotton fiber ) for the production of the sliver buckets and shuttle, improving the binding property of fiber. In the dye industry, as the stabilizing agent for azoic developed dyes it is applied in the production of the activated and cation dyes. Besides these, it is also the cleansing agent for petroleum. the activating agent for activated carbon, the fire retardant for hard cardboards and cloth products, and the welding agent for welding electrodes in eletroplates. Package, storage and transportation:
Industrial solid zinc chloride be packed in a zinc -plate metal pail lining with a polythylene plastic pouch ,or in a plastic pail, a cardboard pail or a compound plastic braided bag lined with a polyethylene plastic pouch. The net weight per pail or bag is 50kg or 25kg.Industrial liguid zinc chloride should be packed in a plastic pail or a steel tank car painted with anticorrosive material (such as acid-resistant paint). On the package it should be marked clearly "Corrosive products". Store in an aeration -drying storehouse. Don't place in the open air. The vessels must be sealed up, preserving it from damp air. It should not be stored or transported with foods and feeds. During transportation it should be covered and kept away from the sunshine and rain. During loading and unloading it should be moved with great care, avoiding breakage, the storage duration of model Ⅰand model Ⅱ products which are packed in the zinc-plate metal pail, the cardboard pail or the plastic pail is six months, while in the compound plastic braided bag, two months. The storage duration of model Ⅲ product is two months. All times are calculated from the beginning of production.
